IMPORTANT UPDATE: Effective 01/01/2009
New IRS Rule
Which Pharmacies You Can Use Your FlexCard At
Any stores not participating with the auto-adjudication IIAS functionality by January 1st, 2009 will not be able to accept our FlexCards. Merchants must be certified and fully operational by the start of 2009. The IRS will not allow FlexCards to be used at any non-certified merchant. This goes for all pharmacies and retailers that have been able to accept our FlexCards in the past. The stores that are already compliant are not affected. If you do not wish to switch to an IIAS certified pharmacy, what you will need to do is pay for your Rx's and OTC Meds with another form of payment and submit them to our claims department.

Please note that Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM's) such as Medco Health Solutions, Aetna Rx Home Delivery, and Pharmacare will not be affected by this ruling. They will not be approving your claims automatically but they will not be required to join the IIAS. |
